This is specifically for birthdays from 10 to 200 guests, adult or teen, intimate to blowout. For kids' birthdays under 10, we'd point you toward farmhouse or play-zone venues — Farzi is a bar-led bistro and not the right room for kids' party games.

1. The intimate birthday — 6 to 10 guests
Where: A single curtained cabana at Farzi Café Dehradun. ₹ 18,000 minimum spend, includes cake reveal, candlelit setup, custom menu. Add personalised cocktails for ₹ 3,500. Best for: spouses, partners, close-circle friend dinners.
2. The friend-group birthday — 15 to 30 guests
Where: Two adjacent cabanas as a private wing, OR a long table on the open terrace. From ₹ 35,000. Includes shared platters, custom cocktail menu and projection signage with the birthday person's name. Best for: 25th, 30th, milestone birthdays among college/work friends.
3. The kitty / family birthday — 30 to 50 guests
Where: Half-rooftop reservation. From ₹ 1,20,000. Theme decor, DJ optional, photo wall, cake station. Best for: parents' milestone birthdays, large family birthdays, kitty group birthdays.
4. The milestone birthday — 50 to 120 guests
Where: Half or full rooftop buyout, DJ, dance floor, AV-equipped speech zone. From ₹ 2,00,000. Best for: 40th, 50th, 60th, 75th. These are big nights and they deserve the room.
5. The blowout / surprise — 100 to 200 guests
Where: Full rooftop buyout. From ₹ 4,00,000. Custom catering, live entertainment, projection video walls, dedicated event manager. Best for: husband-wife surprises, big-money corporate birthdays, sangeet-style birthdays.

What we do, by default, for every birthday booking
When you book a birthday at Farzi Café Dehradun — even just a basic cabana reservation — we automatically include:
- A complimentary dessert with a sparkler. Brought out at a moment of your choosing. No cake-cutting charge.
- The birthday song over the bar speakers. Yes, even the modern Indian version.
- A custom signage card with the birthday person's name on the table.
- A photographer call-out — the floor manager will tip our staff photographer to grab a few candid shots on his phone, sent to you the next morning.
What you can add to a birthday booking
- Custom cake from our pastry kitchen — chocolate truffle, red velvet, mishti doi cheesecake, gulkand rose. From ₹ 2,500 (1 kg) to ₹ 8,000 (3-tier). 48 hours notice.
- Outside cake welcome. No cakeage for cakes under 3 kg. Above that, ₹ 1,000 cakeage applies.
- Balloon arches — gold & black, pastel, theme-coloured. From ₹ 4,500.
- Projection signage on the bistro's main wall — "Happy Birthday [Name]" with a slideshow of photos. ₹ 6,500.
- Custom cocktail named after the birthday person. Three to five custom drinks designed by our bar team. ₹ 3,500 setup + drinks billed per pour.
- Photographer for the evening. 2-hour shoot with edited gallery delivered in 5 days. ₹ 15,000 onwards depending on photographer.
- DJ. Curated DJ partners. ₹ 25,000 – 45,000 depending on slot.
- Live music. Acoustic guitarist / piano / mountain folk band. From ₹ 12,000.
- Live engagement act. Caricature artist, tarot reader, magician. Varies.
How to plan a surprise birthday at Farzi Café Dehradun
Surprise birthdays are our specialty. The thing that distinguishes a good surprise from a great one is timing. Here's how it usually works:
- The "decoy" reservation. The host (e.g. partner, friend) books a normal dinner reservation. The celebrant thinks it's an ordinary night out.
- Pre-event walkthrough. The actual host visits us 1-2 days earlier, walks the space, finalises decor, hands over cake and any personal items.
- Guest staging. Surprise guests arrive 30 minutes earlier and are seated in a separate cabana or bistro corner. They stay quiet.
- The reveal moment. The host and celebrant arrive. The maître d' takes them on a small "tour" — to "show them a new section." That section is the surprise cabana. Lights up, music up, surprise.
- The evening continues. Cake, cocktails, projection slideshow, dinner, dancing if booked.
For surprise birthdays, give us at least 7 days notice. For big-cake or big-projection surprises, give us 14.

- 4 weeks before: WhatsApp first message. Confirm date, group size, budget bracket. Get a site visit invitation.
- 3 weeks before: Site visit. Choose cabana / half rooftop / full rooftop. Pick a menu direction. Discuss surprise logistics if relevant.
- 2 weeks before: Confirm menu, cake order, decor theme. Pay 30% advance.
- 1 week before: Final guest count, projection slides, music playlist, surprise timeline.
